VoiceMoney — Voice-Powered Expense Tracking

VoiceMoney ("we", "our", or "the app") is a voice-powered expense tracking application that helps users manage expenses, budgets, savings goals, and accounts. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use VoiceMoney:

• Account information — email address and display name, collected during registration or Google OAuth sign-in.
• Financial data — expenses, budgets, savings goals, account balances, and transaction history that you create within the app.
• Voice input — when you use the voice recording feature, audio is sent to Deepgram for speech-to-text transcription. The resulting text transcript is then sent to our AI service for expense parsing. We do not store raw audio recordings after transcription is complete.
• Receipt images — when you scan a receipt, the image is sent to our AI service (OpenRouter API) for expense parsing. Images are not stored after processing is complete.
• User preferences — language, currency, theme, and custom expense categories.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively to provide and improve the app's functionality:

• Authenticating your identity and securing your account.
• Storing and displaying your financial data (expenses, budgets, savings, accounts).
• Parsing voice transcripts and receipt text into structured expense records using AI.
• Personalizing the app experience based on your preferences.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the app's core functionality.

3. Third-Party Services

VoiceMoney relies on the following third-party services:

• Supabase — provides database storage and user authentication. Your data is stored securely with Row-Level Security (RLS), ensuring that only you can access your own records. See Supabase Privacy Policy.
• Deepgram — used for speech-to-text transcription. Audio recordings from voice input are sent to Deepgram for processing. Audio is not retained by Deepgram after transcription. See Deepgram Privacy Policy.
• OpenRouter API — used for AI-powered expense parsing. Text transcripts from voice input and receipt images are sent to this service for processing. See OpenRouter Privacy Policy.
• Google OAuth — an optional sign-in method. If used, we receive only your email address and display name from Google. See Google Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage and Security

All user data is stored in Supabase with Row-Level Security policies that ensure each user can only access their own data. Communication between the app and our services is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.

Voice audio is sent to Deepgram for transcription and is not retained after processing. Receipt images are sent to OpenRouter API for parsing and are not retained after processing.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account remains active. You may delete your account at any time, which will result in the permanent deletion of all associated data, including expenses, budgets, savings records, and account information.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party. Your data is shared only with the third-party services listed in Section 3, solely for the purpose of providing the app's functionality.

If you use the shared accounts feature, financial data within that account will be visible to other members you have explicitly invited.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Export your data.
• Withdraw consent for optional features at any time by simply not using those features. Voice recordings and receipt images are not stored — they are processed in real time and discarded.

8. Children's Privacy

VoiceMoney is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
